If we talk about mobile networks, then the era of 5G is going on, but just as the world of technology is changing rapidly with the arrival of 5G, similarly the time to come will be of 6G. In this article we will know when 6G is going to be launched, what will be the benefits of 6G and also we will know about some important questions of 6G.
"6G" is the sixth generation of wireless technology, which is the next successor to previous wireless technology generations such as 5G, 4G. Each new generation has come with new capabilities, and 6G is no different.
The 6G industry and technology ecosystem is truly global. Major 6G research programs are currently taking place in Japan, the US, South Korea, Germany and the wider European Union (EU). Yet it could be argued that if any one country could be singled out as a pioneer it would be Finland.
Finland first started the 6G program. Led by the University of Oulu, the 6G flagship received an investment of 251 million euros (US$300 million), a portion of which came from the Finnish government. Then, China announced the launch of its own research group on 6G in November 2019.
6G will be much more energy-efficient, turning off components when demand is low and reducing capacity. Energy efficiency will be a key design criterion in 6G, along with other metrics such as capacity, peak data rate, latency and reliability.
Speed: 5G theoretically offers speeds of up to 20 Gbps per second, while 6G speeds are estimated to reach 1 Tbps.
6G will become commercially available by around 2030: expert - China Daily
5G has a theoretical maximum speed of 20Gbps, but modern mobile devices will currently be able to deliver barely a fraction of that unless the technology advances, so faster 6G doesn't mean much to the everyday user at the moment. What this means is that everything will not be achieved just by internet speed, devices will also have to be made accordingly. So only time will tell how much change 6G will bring to mankind or to the modern era.
In a significant leap forward in telecommunications, a Japanese consortium has introduced the world's first high-speed 6G prototype device, with unprecedented data transmission capabilities.
6G networks are expected to be developed and released by the late 2030s. The largest number of 6G patents have been filed in China and the United States.
