India Participated in 16 sports including Archery, athletics, badminton, boxing, golf, hockey, judo, rowing, sailing, swimming, wrestling, table tennis and shooting in Paris Olympics 2024.
There were 29 members in Athletics and 21 shooters from India.
In the Paris Olympics 2024, India secured a total of six medals, with no gold medal this time, one silver and five bronze, according to Olympics.com.
1. Manu Bhaker secured India's first medal in the Paris Olympics 2024 and grabbed the bronze medal to become the first Indian woman to get a medal in Olympic shooting. She won two medals in a single Olympic and made history by becoming the first Indian to do this.
2. One medal with Sarabjit Singh in the Paris Olympics 2024 and became India's first shooting team to medal Olympics. They defeated the Republic of Korea's Oh Ye Jin and Wonho Lee.
3. Paris Olympics 2024, On August 1, Swapnil Kusale bagged the third medal in shooting. He won the medal in men's 50m rifle positions. So, with this medal, India won 3 medals in a single sport in the Olympics.
4. The Indian men's hockey team secured a medal for the first time in 52 years. Last time in the Munich Olympics in 1972 Indian men's hockey team won a medal and secured a bronze medal in the Paris Olympics 2024.
5. Neeraj Chopra secured a silver medal in the javelin throw (89.45m). He became the 5th medalist from India who won two-times Olympic medals. Others four who won two-time medals are Sushil Kumar, Norman Pritchard, PV Sindhu and Manu Bhaker.
6. Aman Sehrawat also joined the table and won a bronze medal. He is now India's youngest Olympic medallist.

Despite these successes, India faced significant disappointments in Paris 2024. The number of medals for India could be in double digits. At some events, India missed out the the medals with a nominal margin.
There were almost 6 possible chances for medals in the Paris Olympics 2024 which were missed. Lakshya Sen, Mirabai Chanu, and Manu Bhaker came very close to the medal but narrowly missed out.
Apart from this, Vinesh Phogat's disqualification before the final was the biggest disappointment for India in the Olympics 2024.

Karnam Malleswari was the first Indian woman who win an Olympic medal in weightlifting, she won a bronze medal at Sydney 2000. At the Beijing Olympics 2008, Abhinav Bindra won a gold medal and became the first Indian to bag the individual gold medal in the Olympics in shooting.
For India, Tokyo Olympics 2020 is the best Olympics till now, here India won 7 medals including 1 gold medal. With 13 medals, the Indian Men's hockey team is the most successful sport in the Olympics till now. After that wrestling with 8 medals.
