The Great Fire of London
One of the most famous predictions of Nostradamus is the Great Fire of London in 1666. He wrote, "The blood of the just will commit a fault at London, Burnt through lightning of twenty threes the six: The ancient lady will fall from her high place, Several of the same sect will be killed." This has been interpreted to mean the fire that devastated London.
The Rise of Hitler
Nostradamus also predicted the rise of Adolf Hitler. He wrote, "From the depths of the West of Europe, A young child will be born of poor people, He who by his tongue will seduce a great troop; His fame will increase towards the realm of the East." Many believe this describes Hitler's origins and his rise to power.
The French Revolution
Another famous prediction is the French Revolution. Nostradamus wrote, "From the enslaved populace, songs, chants and demands, While princes and lords are held captive in prisons. These will in the future by headless idiots be received as divine prayers." This is seen as a prediction of the uprising of the common people and the fall of the monarchy during the French Revolution.
World War II:
Nostradamus' followers claim that he accurately predicted the rise of Adolf Hitler and the events of World War II in his quatrains.
9/11 Terrorist Attacks
There are also interpretations that suggest Nostradamus predicted the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the United States, mentioning "the two metal birds would crash into two tall statues" as a reference to the Twin Towers.
